Lathan Glad to be Coming Home

Released: October 20, 2014

The Moncton Miracles would like to welcome back Trayvon Lathan. This will mark Lathan’s third season suiting up for the team and the Miracles organization is pleased to have him back on the court.

Trayvon first came to Moncton in the team’s inaugural season back in 2011-2012. His first game in a Miracles jersey marked the first ever franchise win after getting off to a poor start. Lathan was also one of two Moncton players chosen to the first ever National Basketball League of Canada All-Star Team.

“I’m excited to be coming home,” said Trayvon Lathan. “Moncton is where my heart is. The fans have become my extended family over the years and there is no place I’d rather play!”

Lathan left for the following season but returned to the team in 2013-2014. Last season alone he averaged 17.68 points per game, achieved a career NBL Canada high with a 40 point game against the Halifax Rainmen, recorded a total of 715 points in the season, and had three triple doubles. Trayvon arrives in Moncton Monday afternoon and will be attending training camp that evening.

“We’re very happy with the guys that we have brought in for training camp but we were lacking in NBL experience,” said Miracles General Manager Joe Salerno. “Coming to terms with Trayvon to bring him back to Moncton will not only provide leadership and experience to our roster but make training camp more competitive.”

The Miracles exhibition game is Saturday, October 25th against the Halifax Rainmen. Tip-off is 7pm at the Moncton Coliseum. As a thank you to the fans, tickets have been made FREE to the public by the City of Moncton and the team. Tickets can be picked up anytime leading up to the game at the Coliseum Box Office.

There will be a meet and greet with the players after the game for all fans at the

downstairs Lounge located in the Coliseum. This is a great opportunity for fans to

interact with the team as well as for pictures and autographs.
