Moncton Miracles Press Conference & Town Hall Meeting

Moncton, NB The National Basketball League of Canada Commissioner David Magley hosted a Town Hall Meeting for the fans and media of the Moncton Miracles, Monday evening, September 14, at 6:45 at the Moncton Coliseum.

Magley announced the leagues commitment to keep the team in Moncton and their efforts to create a similar local ownership group as the 25 entrepreneurs who came together in Halifax to buy the new team for that market.

Additionally the management team was announced, which will include:

  • Norval McConnell, the long time Moncton resident who was with the organization in their first 3 seasons, as Community Relations Manager
  • Brennan Bellemare will assume the role of GM for the business side of the organization.  Bellemare is long time resident of Moncton with extensive ties to the community and a strong managerial back ground.
  • Serge Langis, Moncton resident will return as the Head Coach with added duties as Director of Basketball Operations
  • Alison Foster, another Moncton local will be pretty much doing everything else as the Marketing & Communications Manager

The organization will be looking for straight commission salespeople, game day operations & interns.

Lastly a new ticket plan was announced that is reactive to the wishes of the fans:

  • Fewer & simpler ticket options
  • Lower season tickets
  • Flexible payment structure
  • Flexible grouping options ("family packs" & multi game "flex packs")
