Miracles fall to Island Storm in home opener

Released: December 27, 2015

On December 27, 2015, the Moncton Miracles played their season home opener game against the Island Storm.

The Miracles trailed most of the way through the First quarter, being down by ten at the end, with a score of 36-26 in favor of the Storm.

In the Second Quarter it started off with a James Justice and Tyrrel Tate show, as the Miracles had the game down to just three points before the Storm took over. The Storm would end up taking a 25-point lead near the end of the second quarter with strong play by Nick Evans and Mike Martin. The Miracles would trail the Storm 75-54 going into half time.

To start the Second have it was all the Tyrrel Tate show, as he put the team on his back and helped the Miracles prevail and knock the lead down to just five. With the presence of Cordell Jeanty, the Miracles were able to go on this incredible run and keep the ball game close. At the end of the Third the Miracles would be down, 99-89.

The Storm would keep its distance through most of the fourth leading by 10 for a huge chuck on the quarter. Despite a big third quarter by the Miracles, they were unable to pull ahead and ended up falling to the Storm 130-117.

The Miracles play their next home game on Tuesday, December 29 at 7pm against the Halifax Hurricanes.
