Miracles defeat the Island Storm to end a four game lose streak

The Moncton Miracles came out to play Sunday afternoon, as they collected their 6th win of the season against the Island Storm.

 
The Miracles started out the game slow, and had to play catch up throughout the first quarter. Brandon Kearney, James Justice, and Jerron Jamerson at added 4 points in the quarter. The Island Storm held a 23-19 lead going into the second quarter, with George Beamon leading the way with 6 points and 2 rebounds.


The Miracles came out strong in the second quarter, quickly grabbing the lead back from the Storm. The quarter was highlighted with two huge dunks by James Justice and Tydran Beaty. Dexter Strickland came out shooting, adding in 9 points in the quarter. For the Island Storm, Tirrell Baines added in 9 points as well. The Miracles lead 50-48 at half time.


The Third quarter was neck and neck as both teams were filling up the stat sheet. The Miracles held a one point lead at the end of the quarter, leading 73-72. Dexter Strickland kept shooting and they kept sinking as he poured in 10 points and 4 rebounds in the quarter. For the Storm Terry Thomas was on fire as he added in 13 of his game high 27 points and pulled down 6 rebounds in the quarter. 
In the Fourth the Miracles Started out slow, but then quickly turned the game around and went on a late 15-2 run mid way throughout the quarter. Cordell Jeanty had a huge quarter, and was a big reason why the Miracles were able to pull out the win. Cordell added 13 of his 21 points and 5 of his game high 11 rebounds in the final quarter.  


The Miracles came out and showed a strong effort today in the win against the Island Storm. Dexter Strickland, Cordell Jeanty, and James Justice lead the way for the Miracles adding in 23,21,and 18 points. Terry Thomas lead the way for the Island adding in 27 points and 11 rebounds. It was a great game for both teams, as they put on a great show for all of the fans.


The Miracles play their next home game on February 19 at 7pm against the Orangeville A’s, at the Moncton Coliseum.
