Miracles win their first game of the season

The Moncton Miracles came out and fought hard over the Island Storm to get their first victory of the 2015-2016 season! 


The Miracles came out a little slow and let the Island jump out to an early lead with 5:57 left in the first quarter the Miracles trailed 11-19. 


Tyrrel Tate goes 2 for 2 from the line to cut the deficit to 13-21 for the storm.  Tate then had back to back buckets to bring them closer with a score of 21-18 Storm. 


James Justice came out and had a great game. He was hitting threes all night long. He hit a big three to bring the Miracles even closer with a score of 21-25. At the end of the first quarter the Miracles trailed the storm 31-29. 


At the start of the second quarter the home town Miracles came out with three straight baskets to take the lead with a score of 36-31. The Miracles lead the Storm 39-33 with 5 minutes left in the first half. 


At halftime the Miracles have the lead with a score of 57-55 after two massive blocks by Ryan Smith and Kason Cheeks. 


With 9:35 left in the third quarter the Miracles called a timeout as they trailed 61-58. With 4:18 left in the third quarter, Tom Granado nails a three to give Moncton the lead with a score of 72-7. 


With just under three minutes left in the quarter Dexter Strickland throws down a massive dunk to put the team up 77-71. Miracles had the lead at the end of the third with a score of 83-75. 


It was still a close game with just under 10 minutes to play in the game with a score of 85-81. At the media time out the Miracles were up 105-91 with 4:45 left in the game. James Justice hits two back to back threes to give the miracles a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter. 


The Miracles won their first game of the regular season with a final score of 123-106.


Tom Granado had a big night with 29 points. James Justice also put up 25 points in the win. The leading scorers for the Island Storm were Brent Jennings with 29, and Andre Malone with 17.
