Hard work pays off as the Miracles defeat the Mill Rats with a final score of 123-114

The Moncton Miracles came out strong against the Saint John Mill Rats and were working hard all night.  The starting five for the Miracles were Tryden Beaty, Tom Granado, Dexter Strickland, Tyrrel Tate, and James Justice. For the Mill Rats it was Gabe Freeman, Anthony Stover, Corey Allmond, Anthony Anderson, Doug Herring Jr. 

The Moncton Miracles had a new player in the line up as Derek Hall made is debut, he came out and hit a 3 pointer for his first points as a Miracle.  The Miracles and Mill Rats were even at 18, with 5 minutes left in the first quarter.  James Justice was shooting the lights out tonight and was hitting 3’s all night.  The Miracles were up 33-23 with 2:39 left in the first 

Miracles had a lead of 50-47 with just over 5 left in the half.  Tom Granado takes it to the hole and gets fouled and then made them pay by going two for two from the line.  The score was all tied up with a score of 57-57 with two minutes left in the half. But the Miracles rallied go into halftime with a two point lead. 

To start the third, Dexter Strickland made an acrobatic two as he drove to the lane.  The Miracles were down but Tyrrel Tate went 3 for 3 from the line to cut the deficit to 1.  Miracles take the lead with 89-86  with just under two to play in the third. Brandon Kearney hit the buzzer beater at the end of the third. 

With just over ten minutes to go in the game, it was tied 95-95.   With just over 6 minutes left in the game the Miracles were up 105-98.  Ryan Smith had a good game up until he was forced to sit with his 6th foul.   The Miracles had a lead with 1:10 left in the game with a score of 116-112.  The Miracles finished out the game strong, defeating the Mill Rats with a final score of 123-114.
