Halifax Hurricanes put an end to Miracles win streak

The Miracles came out on a three game winning streak trying to make it four but they came up short. 

The Hurricanes jumped out to an early lead and the Miracles could never reel it back in. Starting for the hometown team was Tydran Beaty, Dexter Strickland, Tom Granado,  Tyrell Tate and James Justice. For the visiting Hurricanes it was Billy White, Kyle Hunt, Joel Friesen, Justin Johnson and Shane Gibson. 


The Miracles welcomed the new big man Zack Valliere who was signed on Friday. Derek Hall, Centre, was placed on Injured Reserve with a dislocated shoulder.


At the first media time out the Miracles were trailing the Hurricanes by a score of 12-8 with 5:39 left in the first. James Justice is who the team was looking to to get the team going and he did his part by putting up a team leading 29 points. He was hot from behind the line but also had a big inside presence. The Miracles Trailed with a score of 31-25 at the end of the first quarter. The Miracles trailed 46-38 with 5:58 left in the second quarter. At halftime the Miracles trailed 61-50. 


There was a little bit of trouble on the court resulting in two technical fouls on the same play and James Justice stepped to the line for the Miracles where he hit both of the foul shots. Half way through the third the Miracles trailed Halifax by 10 with a score of 72-62. The end of the Miracles win streak was in sight as they trailed 112-99 with 1:49 left in the game. The final score was 117-107 in favor of the visiting Hurricanes.


The leading scorers for the Miracles were James Justice with 29, Anthony Gurley with 15, and Tydran Beaty and Tyler Murry each with 11.
